How to File a Writ
Last Updated -
When a case is writ eligible, based on the laws in your state, the Vacated and Writ links will become blue and active.
- If you need a Writ of Possession simply click on the word Writ and the case will move to your Writ Filed section and log a date in the Writ column. Your service provider will file the paperwork for you and you will be contacted by the Sheriff or Constable in your area to schedule a set-out.
- If you do not need a Writ, you must log into your account and click on Vacated.
You are also able to file a Writ through your account notification emails. When you see a green Ready to Submit link in the Writ status column, click on the link to file the Writ. If you do not need a Writ, please be sure to log into your account and click Vacated.
